Buktot Beach : A Hidden Beauty in Mansalay

Are you a beach type of person? So I guess, you’ve been to Boracay or Puerto Galera or Palawan to take a dip in their blue waters or stroll down their finest and white sands.

I seldom go for a beach walk but when I heard about the virgin White Beach in Buktot, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro, I've become super excited. The only white beach I’ve visited so far, is the one in Puerto Galera. So, we’ve made plans to visit the place and  last August 2011 we finally set foot on one of the many  hidden beauties of Oriental Mindoro.

The name "Buktot" came from a native dialect term which means "hunchback". The place, they say is shaped like a hunch.

Here's the view of the shoreline.

Touching the fine, white sand.

Facing the shore line, small nipa cottages were built for visitor's convenience. The aroma trees though were not cut down to serve, maybe  as shield from the sun.

I was really amazed with the place. It was peaceful and a great area to have a picnic. You could rent those small cottages for  100 to 150 pesos only and that’s for a whole day rental already. There is no nearby store yet so you need to bring all the things you need like food and water. Entrance fee is only 10 pesos. A very cheap cost to have fun and relax.

At the back part of the beach  still lay a  large chunks of stone and green leafy trees.

You will most likely see the best beach look and enjoy your trip the most during a good sunny weather.

Maybe five to ten years from now, this place will be fully developed and you'll have to pay a lot already.  So come visit this magnificent beach while it still untouched. It's "nature at its grandest" experience.
