The Dilemma On Seeing His New Girl

I was super LSS(Last Song Syrdome) with the song Broken Vow by Lara Fabian . And while it played repeatedly in my head, I realized that this song is actually a very apt song for those people left behind by their loved ones for another girl or boy. The lyrics:

"Tell me her name I want to know. The way she looks.
And where you go I need to see her face I need to understand.
Why you and I came to an end."

Majority of those “iniiwan” or “inagawan”, exactly wanted this. I don’t know if this is to compare them with her or they only want to see their “karibal” to put an end on those images they initially created. Horrible images, right?

If you found out, you were better; at least the pain will be lessened. You can finally say, “ipagpapalit na lang ako, hindi pa sa mas maganda, mas maputi or mas sexy pa sa akin . I'm way better than her in all aspects.” And then utter a victorious parting words like: “It’s his loss, not mine. They both deserved each other. Losers. Hmmmp. “

But, what if, it’s the other way around? That she looks like a goddess? Or she has a super sexy body? The type you can’t compete with? You will all the more wallow in self-pity and will find it more difficult to move on. And that’s actually the risk you have to take.

Well, just continue listening to the song, because I can feel you are already drowning in misery there. Chill. Breathe. And let’s continue. On the last part, you will encounter the lines:

“I close my eyes. And dream of you and I and then I realize
There's more to life than only bitterness and lies.”

If ever you have been bitter in the past few days or months or even years, it’s okay. There’s more to that. More meaningful.

If he had made you believe before that you are his world; that he will hand to you the moon and the stars on a platinum platter; that he will not ever hurt you and leave you. Well, he has already broken his promises. He has other world now and that world that doesn’t recognize you.

Move on now. I guess it’s high time you make your own also. Not necessarily finding again someone to love. Just start with forgetting the past (I know you’ll say easier said than done but what the heck?) and focus on your present life. You’ll just wake up one day actually forgetting him completely. Just keep your faith and don’t ever lose hope.

Sooner or later, you will now hum a different tune and might even burst these lines out loud:
“Hey, I just met you. This is crazy, but here’s my number, so call me maybe.”

And another love story will now begin. Make it better, colorful, sweeter and wish for it to last. But if not, cry, sigh, smile and just try again. Will you?
